Physical requirements to possess American Red Cross Lifeguarding CertificationRequired ExperienceAs a Lifeguard, you will greet all members, guests, and visitors as they enter pool area. You are required to rescue patrons and perform appropriate follow-up procedures, including proper use of first aid equipment. You will test water quality in pools, adjust chemicals as needed, and maintain records. A Lifeguard maintains the pool, pool deck, area, and pump room and assists in equipment maintenance, promptly reporting any breakdowns or other problems. As a Lifeguard you are required to address all questions or comments from members and guests, making referrals as needed and to enforce the aquatics schedule in a professional manner. A Lifeguard performs patron and/or youth swimming tests to assess ability to swim independently and completes all necessary paperwork. Lifeguards are required to attend all required meetings and trainings, understand and follow employee standards of conduct and ethics and uphold club building, facilities, service, program, and emergency procedures.
